Just a quick clarification, So some years of pickup door panels fit the Gen 1 4runner? Other than needing to cut in the second door handle on the pass side. Looking at ebay, it looks like there are some that wrap from window seal down to bottom of the door that might be the right ones.

Any pics would help. My door panels are toast.

 

The door panels you have are the better ones. The arm rest is steel and attaches to the door card via bendable metal tabs. There is another style that has a simple vinyl flap that sits on the top of the door and tucks into the inner window sweep. A lot of those panels are a 3/4 length and have a different fastener pattern than your door card. Here’s a picture of my doors, which are what you have, after I restored them. Also here is a 3/4 length door card I had laying around.
