Hello and thanks for the time, I have recently torn down my front end in order to change out multiple parts and what not, and have gotten hung up on the LCA Bushings. 2 of the 4 cam bolts seem to be free and ready to go, however the other 2 are seized in the bushing sleeves, now I know that I can just grind them to get them out and move on but, with the new polyurethane bushings, they require the metal sleeve that is currently stuck on the adjusting cam bolts. So i have a few questions before taking the next step, 1. I think ill be able to find replacement cam bolts, but are the inner bushing sleeves for sale anywhere? 2. 4runner has 220K, so if I leave the old bushings I am worried that not only are the bushing old and worn-out, but that with the seized up cam adjusting bolts, I will not be able to get it aligned. 3. How have the polyurethane bushings performed in early IFS rigs, are the uppers with the trouble since my torsion bars may be rusty and I may need new hardware for those as well. 4. how long are the factory bushings supposed to last
I’m not sure I follow the sleeve issue. When I replaced the lower control arm bushings the inner sleeves on the old and new are molded in. I don’t see how you could reuse just the inner sleeve.
Did you get poly? Sounds like a incomplete kit.

Yes I got the poly bushing and no it’s not an incomplete kit. You are supposed to reuse the inner sleeve. So if my cam bolt is seized in the sleeve I will not be able to reuse it. I was seeing if these inner sleeves are sold separately anywhere as I have not found them. Or if anyone has been able to separate a seized cam from the sleeve to then use it. Thanks for the reply, I would really like to get these poly bushings in so if anyone out there has a solution to this sleeve issue it would be greatly appreciated!
The OEM bushings I pressed out were all one piece, with the rubber vulcanized onto the metal sleeve, with metal flanges at either end. The Nishino bushings I installed were exactly the same construction. Maybe others here can offer insight that I’m missing.

The poly ones double Dz bought require reusing the shell & sleeves. When I bought them for my 87 4Runner many moons ago, I brought the arms and poly bushings to a shop and had them do it. I would assume heat was involved to get the old rubber off.

Thanks for the reply but that just repeated what I said and didn’t answer anything...
can I purchase the inner sleeve that goes around the cam bolt by it it’s self??
if not, are these poly bushings worth the trouble?
since I saved money but now have to jimmy some random pieces
I may end up leaving them and say to hell with it. Sorry if my questions aren’t specific enough. I thought I was being pretty straight forward..

No, you would have to buy an entire bushing to get a brand new sleeve. Aftermarket bushings can be bought for about $20 on Rockauto. Many complain of poly control arm bushings causing annoying squeaking noises too but I didn't experience that from what I recall. If you decide to not use the polys, I wouldn't trust aftermarket bushings. It's not a job you want to have to redo in a few years.
Sorry I didn't follow the poly procedure. Seems weird it would require you to reuse old metal.
If you end up having to destroy the cam bolt to get it off the are readily available; either oem or aftermarket. Febest offers them. I got my oem ones off Amayama at a great price, but i also had to wait a few weeks.
While I'm pretty much oem on every part I've done on my 4R, When I replaced my lower bushings I used Nishino. Made in Japan, and the quality looked identical to a Toyota bushing.
Does anyone have experience with these bushings? 5 dollars seems very cheap compared to others. I won’t be using the whole bushing but Just the inner sleeve from them and use my poly bushings. Are they good enough quality for this purpose?

Wow, that is cheap! I would think it's fine to use those sleeves if they fit nice and snug inside the polys. Make sure to coat those polys well with the silicon lube.
