7.5 Front Diff Stub Shaft Wobble

I just picked up a front diff, 7.5" '94 4runner 4.88, and it has a bunch of play in the short stub axle. I haven't dealt with these before, so what is normal radial play? The stub shaft is just supported by one needle bearing, but the shaft seems to be in great condition the the bearing surface still showing the original grinding pattern. Any thoughts, or should I just try and pull the bearing and replace?

This play is found in these parts more often than not.

If there is no leak with a seal in good condition, leave it alone and run it.

. It's not likely that changing the bearing if it is not obviously damaged will tighten it up much

That's what I figured. I haven't run it, so unsure about oil seal; might just replace that. This diff apparently has low kms and was the donor truck had manual hubs all it's life so I don't think it's seen much use. That's why I was a bit surprised at the play it has.

It is always wise to change the seals when you've got the diff out on the floor.

Exactly. BTW does anyone have a workshop manual for these 7.5" and the 8" rear ones? Or at least something with all the spec backlash, clearance and torque? I'm going to be rebuilding a spare rear shortly and need these numbers.
