Fresh 5spd swap - No Start - ISO 9142
Trying to track down the culprit.
All power interior is working, gauge cluster works, radio works.
No lights, wipers etc.
When plugged into OBD port, im getting a code (data link error, cannot connect) ISO 9142 and kwp2000.
Needing to know if its in the ecu or some wires that were cut in the engine bay harness (not the motor harness) that i had to solder, wondering if i connected the wrong wires. (only ones I wasnt certain on are 3 white wires with black stripe and 2 thicker gauage black ground style wires.)
97 4runner
98 motor and 5speed trans, using engine harness and ecu all from same 5 speed donor.
Do i need to also swap the dash harness? Or is the culprit in the engine bay harness?
Any help in direction is appreciated.
Thanks

Bump
Just got my 3rd back from the body shop.
Now focusing on the no start again.
im using the 98 motor, manual trans, tc and wiring harness and ecu.
Would it be easier to use the ecu and harness from my 96 auto and trick the neutral safety switch?
Apparently the 96 and 98 have different body harnesses and or pin outs.
The 98 donor didnt use 1 plug from the body harness that the 96 had.
Thanks.
