3rz VIN found on block?

I have a local shop in WA state here swapping in a 3rz for me. I'm wondering if I can find the VIN somehow with information that is on the engine block (via a serial or the VIN itself). I haven't received my truck yet however I just want to know to look for it before I go and pick it up. He provided me with a carfax for the truck the engine supposedly came out of. I just want to keep him honest.

All I cound find on my 3RZ block was a serial number down by the drivers side motor mount, and I couldn't find anybody that could decode it for me. It would have been great to have had a VIN, but I didn't see one anywhere on mine.

If you find a way to connect that serial number to a VIN, let me know!

Maybe a call to toyota can link the engine SN to a VIN?

So I called my local Toyota dealership. They can look up what serial number should correspond with a vin number. He said he can't do it the other way around. This works for me though because the guy i'm getting my motor from gave me a carfax on the truck it is supposedly coming out of. Therefore I can go with the serial number that is supposed to be on the block in hand.
