1979 Toyota Pickup $500 Port Hueneme/Oxnard, CA
I have for sale a 1979 Toyota Pickup 2WD, asking $500 OBO
The body is in pretty good shape for a 35yr old truck, looks like it's still factory paint. The only major rust is the front passenger side wheel well under the battery that's rusted through and I recently noticed a spot on the passenger side floor board where it's rusted through. Any other rust on the truck is surface rust and very few dents in the body. The interior has seen better days, dash cracked pretty bad, not sure what the seat looks like, it has a cover on it that I haven't taken of, PS door card is missing and replaced by a sheet of ply wood. It starts good enough but I'm not really sure how well it stays running anymore. It used to sputter and die after it hit about 35/40 MPH but adjustments have been made to the carb and it's been cleaned but since I don't have a valid license plate on it I haven't taken it out for a test drive since then. It's being sold as a complete truck but "for parts" only due to titling issues and I do not have the capability of parting it out myself and buyer would have to come pick it up since I don't have the time or means to deliver it.
The reason I'm selling it is because thanks to the wonderful state of Mississippi I can't get it titled in my name and that's also the reason it's as a parts truck, I don't feel I can sell this for anything other than parts when it's not titled to me.
Here's the story on it: I live in Mississippi but work in California, I bought the truck here in CA to have something to run around town in but when I brought the title back home to MS DMV I was told that because of too many errors on the title they couldn't accept it so I tried going the route of the title bond. They won't accept that either until I get the vehicle inspected by MS Highway Patrol to verify the VIN...the truck is in CA and I WILL NOT drive it to MS just so someone can look at the VIN and then drive it back, too much trouble. There may be ways around this but no one can tell me for sure and I'm already almost $200 into this truck just trying to get a title and can't justify spending more money on it just to keep getting turned down so it's for sale. I'm hoping to get $500 but if you have a better idea let me know, just trying to recoup some of my money.
