89 pickup 3.0 high idle issue

89 pickup 3.0 high idle issue
New to the yotatech forum.
I have a 1989 ext. Cab 4x4 pickup with a 3.0 v6. It had had a high idle since i bought it. Whenever i remove the oil fill cap it idles down. Not really sure what us going on any suggestions?
