94 4runner 3.0 timing isue

Hey, Ive got a 94 runner 3.0 auto. Bout a month ago I replaced the t-belt and water pump. We went out of town for the holidays and it ran like crap. When we got here I put the jump wire in and tried to time it. With the jump wire in, it was at like 15 deg after tdc and the closest I could get to 10 before made it run worse and spark knocked bad. Any ideas where I should start looking? Did the t-belt jump? Any help would be awesome thank you.

They installed the t belt 1 tooth out of time. Easy fix.

No, no. I think you mean the distributor was re-installed 1 tooth out of time. (the distributor gear has 13 teeth; miss by one and you're off about 28°. Does 28 sound familiar?)

This mistake is easy to make, and easy to fix. http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...13distribu.pdf
