Someone explain the witchcraft in re-seating torque converters (A340H)

I am in the midst of a 3RZ swap, and I'm keeping the A340H auto that the truck came with. However, to get the 3RZ (which came with an A340F auto) to bolt to the old tranny, I'll need to swap the bellhousings and torque converters. I've searched and done research, and I keep seeing horror stories about reseating the TC; something about a "second click" or something like that. Seems straightforward, yank the old one off and push the new one in, but I'd like some advice before I jump in half-cocked. Many others have screwed this up and ended up with shattered flexplates, I'm trying not to let that happen to me. Thanks!

If its like I'm thinking the best way to explain it is it had two splines. You SHOULD be able to tell if out isn't seated all the way on the input shaft. But yes it has two "clicks" per say

if possible, compare the depth of the converter before you pull it out. this will be good for comparison. usually, when fully seated you won't be able to put your fingers behind the converter. they usually make a dead thud sound when they fully seat as well

Generally when you seat a torque converter you slide on the TC and spin it clockwise, approximately 90 degrees, then you push the TC again and spin it clockwise again, when it stop spinning the second time you will hear the second click.. good luck
