can someone explain how to unhook the vamf?

On a 93 2wd 4runner with 3vze, can someone explain how to remove the connector to the vamf, it seems like there is a little button on the underside that you have to push in in order for it to come unplugged when pulled, but it wont come off

You have to disengage the wire clip on the sides

ok i managed to get it off, you have to push the wire clip outwards on each side

now can someone help me find out where online to get a new vamf?

(i tested it and one of the steps the ohm range should be between 100 and 300 ohms, it measured 0.000)

Best bang for your buck is to grab one from a junk yard. Most have return policies too.

If not... you're stuck paying $200ish from somewhere like Autozone, or more from the dealer.

If you're feeling adventurous, might I tempt you with a 7MGE AFM from a Supra or Cressida... it's a bit more work to make it fit though.

$130 + at RockAuto.

If you try the junk yard route, be sure to take your meter with you.

For $130, I'd consider trying to repair it. Just don't forget that RockAuto and Autozone have core charges, so factor that in -- the VAF is sealed, and if I was a dealer I wouldn't take a core that had been opened.
