gotted scanned today 4 codes pull up

about 6 months ago cel light comes on...p0440 and p0446 come up fine out i need to replace my charcoal canister but i dont really need to fix it until i need a e-check and every once in awhile the cel light would stay off for a bit...then i notice it wont so i go to autozone and get scanned and the same 2 show up with c1201- abs engine control system malfunction. latley ive notice that when i pull into a parking space or a gas pump my abs will kick in. only happens with speeds under 5mpg... the other code was c1340- open circut in center diff lock signal.

what should i do? should i pay 100$ to have the dealer look at it? or could i try and do it myself? anyone know the price it would be to fix?

The 1201 code simply means that the computer sees a problem with something else that may affect the abs operation. When the other issues are resolved, the abs code will not return. I have replaced a few of those center diff lock actuators. I would start by clearing the codes and checking the operation of the 4wd system. If you need an actuator, it could be well over $1000 to replace. They are actually not too terribly difficult to replace however if you can follow a manual

Don't think that will do it but you can try. I honestly don't remember how to do it without a scanner. Maybe someone else will chime in or maybe some searches will yield results

Yes disconnecting the negative terminal will work leave it off for at least 10 minutes.

If you plan to work on the newer vehicles a OBD II code reader that can erase is well worth the money a scanner even better.

Some of the codes will shut the engine off

the FSM with the diagnostics makes it so much easier.
