looking at rebuilding a 3.4L .. where you guys getting your parts from ?

i would not buy a cheap kit off ebay, i did and head gaskets blew after 5000 miles and most of the gaskets lasted 3 to 6 months most started leaking... go with toyota head gaskets and a nice napa kit.

Why are you rebuilding in the first place? Unless something is wrong there is no need to open the 5vz. They last darn near forever. I know of several with over 350k and running strong.

Run it until it gives you a reason to open it.

Mine just broke 320k running strong, it just started a small head leak, and I was told to not even worry about rebuilding the top end till you can notice the oil loss, I buy all my parts and kits off of rockauto.com they have decent prices, everything I have bought from there has worked great

there is something wrong .. not sure exactly what yet as I havent pulled it apart , but previous owner replaced with a used engine .
just askin' in case !!

Lol my first 5VZ lasted about 192,000 hoping this brand new lasts was longer then that.
