Clunking when I let off the accelerator but only at around 50mph???? Help Please!!!!

I own a 99 Toyota 2WD automatic 4runner. Just noticed that at around 50mph when I let off the accelerator it makes a clunking noise. When I try to duplicate this at any other speed it doesnt do it. I read on this forum to check the U joint and I did by crawling under the truck and trying to move the driveshaft but there was no play. Do I have to put the truck on jack stands to truely test it? I don't know but this is really bothering me and any advice on what this clunking is would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Don

It's weird cause I can let off the gas at 20, 30, 40 but at about 50 when I let off the accelerator...CLUNK! After reading the forum it showed several zerk fittings to grease so got the grease gun and put some Mobil 2 grease in it, crawled under the truck and NO zerk fittings!!! Got back on the forum and found that only the 4WD has the zerk fittings, so just wondering how I can possibly grease it? Thanks for the response!! Don

I have a 4WD, so was not aware of the no zerks on the 2WD...bummer.
Check all the bolts and nuts on the springs, suspension, driveline, etc to be sure they are tight. Is the exhaust system/muffler banging into something? The rubber donuts on the hangers can rot out.
