My sons 87 4runner 22re has power to the coil but no spark. I grabbed an igniter off an 87 yota van. It's not a "53" but will it work? Connectors are different (square not round), but I'll splice... Has the same 3 looms. I'd just go for it, but he's 75 miles away. TIA

 

I try that with the 4runner with a different ignitor and it does not start. Went back to the original that came with the truck and it start... Have it work for you?

 

Haven't tried it yet...truck is far away. Hopefully this works. I'll post results.
