Just a girl and her rig

So about a month ago I bought a 1986 Toyota Pickup. It had a blown head but the body is perfect (minus paint, which i don't care about) and it was all stock. Which is nice, I know it hasn't been screwed around with and messed up. So I buy it, I buy a new head for it, install it and clean the cab.

So I drive it around for a couple weeks after I get the head on, but I'm noticing that it's just blowing an ungodly amount of blue smoke at start up and doesn't go away until the engine is nice and hot. So, blue smoke=oil right? But it's not leaking any, so that's good. Well, I drive it these couple of weeks and then one day..I'm getting ready to leave school and fire her up. Starts fine but there's a very definitive knock. Not to be confused with the rattle that occurs spontaneously throughout driving conditions. So I get out, try to locate if it's side specific to the motor but I can't tell a difference anywhere. So I drive it to the closest gas station and check the oil. NO OIL ON THE DIPSTICK!! Ok...crap, it's low. Probably just a quart. Wrong....try 2.5 qrts low on oil. So without further adue, I give you, One engine removal, One engine rebuild, One engine install and $720 dollars later.

After only two weeks.

Being silly.

Painted Bay.

Cranked.

Anybody home?

New Pistons. New Rings. .020" Over Cylinders. Rebuilt Rods. New Rod Pins. New Crank. New Bearings.

New Paint.

One scary one of yours truly.

$40 dollar Header off Craigslist

Didn't quite finish it last night but it's about 95% done. I need to swing by Toyota this afternoon and pick up some plug wires. Bolt everything back done, plug everything in, put some air in the tires and turn the key. Hopefully, it will just turn over and not be a bitch. I'm not too certain how good of a carb that is, considering it's factory. But it'll do until I can find some injectors to complete my EFI conversion kit.

Hope you all enjoy!!

Finished her last Sunday. Had to clean out the carb to get it to idle right and took it the exhaust shop for a new downpipe. Going to pick it up and take her home tonight or tomorrow.

Hmm, I thought I had posted these already but I guess not...these next photos are from this last summer. New Wheels and tires.

15x7 (guy I bought them from said they were 8's, but he was obviously an idiot) with 31x10.5 BFGoodie All Terrains.

And because I'm such a loser, I painted my lugs black because I was too lazy to find a place that sold real black ones.
