back again 94 yota 22re engine help
at my wits end with this.....truck runs fine for a day or 2 even a week or more ...then boom it starts spitting and sputtering on startup....
when this occurs white smoke come out tailpipe
....i baby the gas somewhat and smooths out...
.when I start from dead stop its like it just loses power but doesnt cut off....not all the time....this is sporadic also
have had new gas filter...plugs/wires/distributor cap.
.have had TPS/MAF checked and mechanic tells me its ok IDK
...I replaced a relay in fuse box under hood that i am told controls fuel pump ..IDK just what i was told
cleaned throttle body
check engine light has only come on 1 time months ago but not again
even replaced ECM because code 11 came up and mechanic said that was it
.BUT I SEE code 11 says other things
...i didnt even get home before it started its crap again..
.luckily i was able to sell computer and get money back as how that didnt solve problem....
REALLY REALLY need help.....where do i DO I START from here??
im sure someone on here could drive it and when it does act up you would know exactly what it was
unfortunately no one here can look at it

Wait for others to chime in, but I would say maybe the injector wiring has a cold spot? If it does it again, wiggle the injector harness (they all fire together, just wiggle)
THe other thing I would check is cold start injector. How are the outside air temps when it does this?
Is there any "bubbling" under the dash aka "air in the cooling system"?
That, or somehow cooling water is entering where it should not (white smoke) - although the white smoke could be condensation as well.
I have a "brand new oem 22RE", and on some days it just does that in the morning. Hard to start, sputters, misfires but suddenly "vrooom!"
THe other thing I would check is cold start injector. How are the outside air temps when it does this?

thanks...wouldnt i have to adding to the radiator if it was the water thing?
the white smoke is only when it does the sputtering thing and stops when it smooths out less than a minute later
i check radiator couple time a week...I havent had to add water any in months and months and even longer.
.level stays consistent all the time
will do the jiggle injector wiring when it does it again
air temps can vary 30 degrees or more..can b in the 20s or 30s or 70s and 80s
Never ever hard to start....starts as soon as i turn the key..even if it does cut off it starts right back
