Which wire for aftermarket tach?

Hey guys - I've read several threads and I'm still not completely clear. I have an aftermarket tach for my 84 22R. All wires are hooked up except the green, which is routed thru my firewall toward the ignition coil and igniter. Should I splice into the black wire that runs between igniter and coil

Black wire between igniter and coil

or, alternatively, there is a plug coming off the igniter which isn't used for anything. Can I plug my green tach wire into this plug using a spade connector?

Where the wire for this plug comes out of igniter

Looks like spade connector might fit

i prefer the plug if that will work, but anything safe and correct will make me happy Thanks!

The capped off plug is your tach signal, you got lucky lots of people can't find it.
