Red face 94 3vz Timing is off?

So i bought a 3.Bl0w for $1,500 with blown head gasket. Ripped it apart not knowing as much as i should've and i messed up the timing. I set to TDC, checked and reset the cams and distributor, still no run.
Now I bought a new timing belt, see how it goes. Could I have messed something major up trying to start while timing is off??

Sure. But the 3VZE (I assume that's what you're talking about) is a non-interference engine, so cranking it with the valve timing off (alone) will not cause a valve-piston collision.

There are approximately 1,255 reasons why an engine won't run. Why do you think replacing the timing belt will help?

scope103,i don't know why i thought the timing belt would help, I guess i didn't know what else to do! (and i still don't). Crank, cams, and distributor all seem in alignment, I bought LCE headers with crossover delete which also deletes most EGR stuff. I capped off a few hoses but still not 100% i did it right. I dont think that the lack of EGR could keep it from running but idk. any help would be awesome!

Set your crank shaft timing mark to TDC, stick a straw down the #1 cylinder spark plug hole and make sure it is at the top of it's stroke. then check the cam pulley timing marks or pull a valve cover to check that the valves for #1 are closed. then pull your distributor cap and make sure the rotor is pointed at the #1 spark plug wire. if all of this checks out test for spark. if that checks out give it a shot of starting fluid in the intake tube while holding the throttle valve open then quickly reassemble the intake tube and try starting it. if it fires and dies you will know for sure that:
#1 you have spark
#2 you have compression
#3 it is timed close enough to run
#4 you are not getting gas to the cylinders.
from there you will need to check the fuel pump, filter, EFI fuse, the injectors etc.
if it does not run you need to check #1,2, and 3
