i have no power to my taillights i checked all fuse good....new taillight relay nothing.....no burnt bulbs on taillights im totally lost any help is appreciated......also have trailer converter box....when i check to see if hot all light up except brown taillights wire that's from box to connector and from brown wire coming of taillight

Welcome to YotaTech. Before you press "post," read over what you've typed. It's really hard for someone to figure out what you mean when you say something like "when i check to see if hot all light up except brown tailights wire ..."

First, get a multimeter. No excuse to not have one, and you're wasting your (and our) time without one. https://www.harborfreight.com/7-func...ter-63604.html

You didn't check ALL the fuses; you don't even know where ALL of them are. Did you check the "Tail" fuse? Did you check it with your multimeter? (under just the wrong conditions, the link can be broken but the fuse will "look" good.) Do you have power ("all the time") to pin 2 of the taillight relay socket? Is there power to the Tail fuse with taillight relay closed?

Your trailer converter box, of course, is the #1 suspect. If the "brown" wire you refer to is from that box, there's really no way that any of us could know which that wire is. You just need to trace it out with your multimeter.

honestly im lost i replaced all blubs all fuses now i have no headlights and taillights or dashlights my headlights turn on as if i was to falsh someone but no brights im thinkin my headlight switch went bad its original from 1994 truck has bad rust corrosion the body due being by sea im takin it....im in colorado now....

Yup, you could have a bad stalk-switch. Or maybe not. So you could drop $100 on a guess-or-by-golly and replace it. It might work. But probably wouldn't.

You have an electrical problem, but you can't see all those electrons, 'cause they're just so darn small! What IS it that need to find out what is wrong??

You wouldn't be the first person to be afraid of electrical issues. And if that's the case, you'll do well to take it someone who works on trucks for a living. But if you want to do it yourself, you know what you need to get ...

First: You describe your problem clearly, especially when people trying to help are thousands of miles from you. You describe what you see, hear, fee, smell (yes, smell of smoke is a description of a problem). Pls see signature
Next, get a multi-meter like already said ^^^ (Pls see signature).
Second you assess the problem with a multi-meter. Start with this.
When you turn tail lights on you should her a click (Sorry, I don't know where the tail light relay is for your model-year)
There should be 12Volts at points I show below when you turn tail lights on.

Did you replace the bulbs and have no success?
Than did you replace the fuses?
Or did you pull them all at once and replace them all at the same time?

Did this issue start all at once?
Or did you get a smoking deal on the truck and it came with these issues?

I generally replace one component at a time...after I check to see if I have power (where test light or meter help you narrow down issues)
