Anybody have one of those cheap chrome front bumpers?
They’re only like $60 but if anyone has any insight or experience with these things then I’d like to know. I assume they’re cheap chineseium and flimsy with thin flake-prone chrome, but I’m really curious. My bumper has rust holes in it and it looks bad.
There are ones for like $90 and ones for $59 but I’m assuming they’re all the same but some are marked up more. Real OEM bumpers are of course many hundreds of dollars.
This is is what I’m talking about: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F262562253204
Thanks in advance

I have "a" cheap chrome bumper (and painted valence), picked up at a Salvage yard in SF about 5 years ago. Very solid. Fit well. Looks good, even today.
Why you would assume "they're all the same," I can't imagine. But if, somehow, they are, then knock yourself out.

Time to start the local salvage yard hunting. Don't know if you have any in Conn, but NY there's tons, and it's really not that far away, take the ferry! Don't buy the aftermarket junk! Got $900 to spend? Look at the ARB bumper. Otherwise get your tool bag and start the hunt

Actually, OEM bumpers are not easy to find (well, I can't find them) in a salvage yard. Why? Well, why is the truck in the salvage yard at all? Because it ran into something. That's why my salvage yard sold aftermarket bumpers; folks ask for them a lot, and they aren't available on wrecked trucks.

Dang, not what I wanted to hear. Maybe I could message the seller and ask what gauge the steel is. But I guess for $60 I can’t expect much.

I'm going back to my salvage yard tomorrow, I'll see if the truck has a bumper, I"m not looking for one so I don't know if it has one. I just pulled an almost complete dash out of this 86 Check my thread https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f115...g-part-304418/
Most of the trucks and cars in his yard are not crashed. They turn them in for cash, this is Utah after all

Ah, thought it was in my profile or signature or something. I use the mobile site so it can’t see what everyone else using the desktop site sees.

You got the idea about the signature, but what else would be nice in there? Engine (22re, 3VZE), transmission (A340H ?), trim level (Deluxe? SR5?). You get the idea. You only need to do it once and you're good.
