Jaretstuff’s “I have a problem” 1995 Tacoma Build Thread

As I look around the room I see many broken people. One by one they introduce themselves and tell what addiction they suffer from. Time drags on and it is getting sooner and sooner to being my turn to introduce myself. Finally the time arrives as I reluctantly stand up at my seat and introduce myself and my affliction. “Hi, my name is Jaret K****** and I have an addiction, an addiction to Toyota 4x4s”...

in all realness I am not a new member to the forums, I have been a member for around 4 or so odd years here at Yotatech. I haven’t had as many trucks as you guys, but I have some memorable ones. Probably the most people will know me by my built T100 I had for 3 years until I sold it this past spring Front and rear lockright lockers, big Axle tube mod, superlift lift kit, Aisin licking hub conversion, 35in tires, bushwhacker flares and NWTI bumper

or perhaps it is my down and dirty budget Toyota Pickup Build that was featured on the yotatech homepage, that I rescued out of a field Currently finishing up the new motor I rebuilt for it, major updates to come soon
Or possibly my least viewed threads where I attempted my first(and definetly not last) Toyota frame repair

Little brothers 4runner that we had to rebuild the whole back part of the frame for. This is staying completely stock unfortunately No that we know a little about me and my past Toyota endeavors we can get to the meat and potato of this thread and that is the new project truck, and good news! This one will finally be another lifted build which is what I personally enjoy. This thread will be a breeding ground of ideas for myself and you, the reader alike. There will also be chances for fellow member’s vehicles to be in here if it is something I admire or plan on doing in the future.

well here is the truck(finally) it is an early 1995 Toyota Tacoma 2.7/ 5speed 4x4 and here is what’s wrong with it

*body rust
*paint
AC
Clutch
front struts

the good: runs awesome, interior is good shape and the frame is good for the most part and it was cheap. And it was cheap, and did I mention it was cheap

Plans are to fix what’s wrong and then paint it tan, lift it, and put it on some 33in AT tires

one of my favorite trucks for inspiration is tacotank and his beautiful tacoma
His build thread is linked below, PLEASE check it outhttps://www.yotatech.com/forums/f200...67/index2.html

The plan of attack for the truck is the following, in this order:
* Exedy Clutch Kit
* Frame work and POR 15
*New front struts
* radio
*New rocker panel and wheel arch
*AC fixed
* Desert Tan paintjob
Leveling kit
33in tire on black gmc wheels
2in wheel spacers

On her way home

Ordered the clutch and flywheel. Ended up spending a little more for a good Exedy Clutch

Hey!
Thanks for the compliment, you seem like you know what you're doing but if you have any questions with the 95 let me know. There's a few seemingly minor differences on early vs. later 95's as I found with mine. I know of one so far so Im guessing there could be more. Mine was the location of the fuel pressure regulator hose and the VSV for it.
Looking forward to your build progress, havent been able to check in lately due to being busy with my new job. Also, I am actively looking for a T100 so if you know anyone with one let me know! Good luck with the build!

Well progress has been slow. I had someone put in a clutch for me that took multiple months. But the good news is she is running and I have been driving her everywhere.

I started the interior rehab project. The inside of this truck was so disgusting when I got it. Carpet was nasty, stained seats, grease and dirt everywhere. No stereo. The alternator was also not charging so had to put in a reman one.
I pulled the carpet and used a carpet cleaner aoj it and used it on the seats and the result was astounding. And while I had the carpet out I sprayed some sound deadened to help with heat and noise.
last but not least did a new kenwood stereo and speakers and ordered new rotors and pads. Before the new sound deadener
After
After steam cleaning, very clean

well the right opportunity arose and she moved along down the road. But the funds are getting used for my 1991 and I could finally buy a set of wheels for my truck
