85 TOYOTA SR5 - 89 22RE

Hey my brother came up to visit and his yota died, we replaced the motor, new head gasket, timing gasket, gaskets that had to come off to do the head and timing gaskets, spark plugs, rotor in distributor. But now that the motors installed we can smell gas tested spark but she just isnt firing, only cranks. Any ideas?

Is it trying to fire up at all or just turning?

Well if you have spark it can only be timing or fuel

Don`t forget the complete Air intake must be installed and tight,

Wires on Correct??

Did you destroy the injector harness when removing the harness when removing the engine

Those connections get quite brittle with old age.

Just because you smell fuel does not mean your injectors are firing.

Though you might have a fuel leak

Everything was hooked up proper, original motor oil was milky, replacement motor burning coolant out the exhaust after new gaskets... Sigh...

We're getting info in little bits and pieces. Was the head shaved before it was installed?
