PROBABLY not the TPS. I'd guess there's an issue with the VAFM. When you unhooked it, did you undo the screws or raise the wire clip & pull the plug?

I'm pretty sure the stock gearing on that year with manual tranny is 4:10. At least it is for the V6/3VZE.

Definitely a miss. I'd go through the spark plug wires, distributor & sparks plugs with a fine tooth comb. Check for consistent bright spark at each plug.

If the O2 sensor hasn't been replaced, do that. Probably the #1 reason for crappy fuel mileage.

I would change out the O2 sensor first. That seems to be the biggest culprit for MPG drop when nothing else has changed. If it's never been replaced, I GUARANTEE you'll see an increase in MPG.

There's no way to reliably check the oil pressure with the factory gauge. you need to get a verified gauge to see if you have good oil pressure. Like Punchy said, could be corrosion or bad...

There's a test for the Cold Start Fuel injector; sounds like it could be leaking. Also, if you've never replaced the O2 sensor, it's done for.
