If he cut out the converter what else did he remove? Does it still has all the factory vac tubing and valves ( egr, afm, etc)? I would get the FSM and start going thru all the systems to confirm...

Yes I do. I had to pull the plenum to fix an oil leak and the gasket that came from Enginetech tore when removed. Felpro is just a better quality product.

Check your intake tube between the AFM and throttle body for cracks or tears. Leaks can cause missing and rough running. It is a quick and easy check. Then test the AFM as old87yoda has recommended.
