I have a 1987 Toyota Pickup with 22-R 4 Cyl. engine (with carb), 5 spd & 2 WD, & less than 68,000 original miles!
Issue: Oil Pressure Gauge. Trying to convert from the original dash cluster with only speedometer to one with tach.
Changed original oil pressure switch for new oil pressure "sensor", Toyota #83520-35032, but analog gauge needle never gets off zero. There are five marks on the gauge.
Made a test light specified in Part BE of Factory Service Manual. Light uses a 3.4 Watt bulb which says wiring and cluster gauge operation appear in good condition. But not so clear about sensor operation. Any suggestions?
