WinMX problems
 

Well, i used to download a song every once in a great while from there when i was on dial up. Now that im on cable, there are a couple more that i want to get, mainly to replace bad CD's that i have and dont want to buy again. But, now that i have switched connections, whenever I try to download a song, it either will just say "waiting for incoming connection" or it will be Remotely Queued permanently. Either way it will not download now that i am on the new connection. Any thoughts as to why it does this?

look at your firewall settings.
When it 'queued' you are waiting in line and sometimes they are just bad connections with those servers.

If it connects to WINMX then the problem is prob with WINMX not your comp - just IMO winmx has gone way downhill lately - I dont know when the last time you used it was .

I havent used it in probobally 5 months. I have tried messing with all of the settings on WinMX, but none of it has done any good. It now just queues every single song i try, ive probobally tried 50 different songs and it just queues them and never downloads them. I guess ill have to find somehwere else to download music.

I use Ares Lite and WinMX. Ares Lite works much much better.

It still works the way it did when I had dial up (cable now). And besides, I'd rather have everything "queued" with cable then have the song 96% done with dial up and the other person kill the connection.
