Windows 8?

Good gosh, a new OS coming out.

I am still running XP Pro at home, and we are going to be switching to Windows 7 at Boeing before to long.

Looks like 8 will support touch screen on home monitors?

Holy man...I have been running Windows 7 for a few months now and finally got the hang of it. Although, a touch screen would be very nice for some things, my wrist is starting to ache every once in a while (from using the mouse so often...maybe I shouldn't have mentioned that!)

^^ carpal tunnel syndrome... there's an app for that!.... :lof:

Did you read how W8 is going to look like a store front with links to microsquishy's online boutique so you can "buy" all your software just like apple sells their "apps'...
wonder how close they are going to monitor the non ms software you install on your sys. that you did not "buy" from them?...
maybe time to go look at Linux again.....

Would have thought Microsoft would have learned their lesson with MS Bob, guess not.

it's hard to believe that 7 has already been or will be out 3 years when 8 comes out. xp is still a nice operating system but vista SUCKED but once you got the hang of it, it wasn't too bad and windows 7 is very nice. I probably prefer it over xp now just because i use it on all the computer i use other than this one and it is so old i couldn't put 7 on it.

I wouldn't rush out to get 8 though, so they can still get the bugs out of it. I still haven't rushed out to get office 2010 yet because I'm still letting the work out the kinks in office 2003, hehe. Just kidding, but I just never have like 07 or 10 office but will probably try and put it on my computer when I redo windows in a few days

I don't see a task bar :( that's not very Windows-like...

honestly, looks like a big iPad... I'm a Windows fan myself, but I think they may be going to far ahead with this one, lol

What do you mean? The taskbar was the worst thing Microsoft ever did to Windows, we're all slaves to that annoying little start button.

"Windows is growing more flexible in other ways. Microsoft said back in January that the next version of Windows would support ARM-based chips from Nvidia, Texas Instruments and Qualcomm, in addition to the traditional Windows processors from Intel and AMD. Though Sinofsky and Green used Intel-based machines for Wednesday’s demo at D, Microsoft plans to demonstrate some of the ARM-based designs later today at the Computex trade show in Taiwan."

Personally very excited about this part....Super low power chips running PCs. And we have quad core ARM chips coming out this fall.

I dunno, I've kind of grown accustomed to it, lol

it's no different than having a dock of apps at the bottom of the home screen of you Droid power phone, in my opinion

I'm suggesting that such things are completely unnecessary in the first place.
