Greetings,
You need to get the software that the adapter requires. Search the net again, you'll find it. If you can't post the card information maybe I can help more. |
I figured out my own little work around for this.
I found out that you dont need matching drives to run software raid. So i took my old 40 gig drive moved important files over to the 120 gig drive. Partitioned a section of the 120 gig drive with a 40 gig partition. ( the old 40 and 120 are on seperate eide channels ) In disk manager i deleated them, then added a new volume, striped em and added the two 40 gig partitions and boom instant speed boost. This new "drive" will store my games and bigger apps and so far have reduced load times to nearly half... There is a slight CPU load increase, but with my 3.0Ghz prescott hyperthreading deal, which is now water cooled ;) and over clocked at 3.5Ghz its really not too big of a deal. |
Great work around phorunninduke!
I tried the same configuration. The 40 gig drive was faster than 120 gig in my config and slowed down the transfer rate. I used mirrored which I think is Raid 1 or 1+0. P4 3.2 ghz overclocked to 3.6 (motherboard won't go higher). |
