script errors?
I'm trying to run a Fisher Price game for a friend, but I keep getting this error:
http://home.earthlink.net/~dnguyen92...pt%20error.JPG How do I fix this? I'm running Windows XP. |
might start by going to the game's website (being fisher price), expect VERY little tech support. might be a contact section for you to email them and ask.. but based off that screenie, not knowing which game it is.. its hard to diagnose.. steps id probably take are..
1. make sure windows is updated 2. have all your latest drivers 3. re-install the game (sometimes they go in screwy) 4. dont buy fisher price (sometimes these $10 games just arent 100% compatible) |
the problem appears to be an incompatability between Windows XP and Windows 95 or 98 program.
One possible solution is to change the operating properties of the binary executable. Steps: Goto program *.exe (* is the first name of the file) goto program properties (click right mouse button and select properties) goto compatibility (select the compatibility tab when viewing file properties) click 'run this program in ...' select Windows 95 This precedure, listed above, may not work with windows 95 or 98 programs. Windows XP/2000/NT uses TAPI programming interfaces (handlers) and Windows 95 and 98 use API. It's my opinion that the difference programming interfaces are the cause of the handler error. |
I tried that, and it didn't work either. I think I'll have to make this Compaq Presario 5050 dual boot between Win98 and Winxp. Problem is, I've never done that before. Anyone got step by step instructions?
