KVM switches

Anyone know of a good KVM switch that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? The 'how many pc's' thread got me thinking about how nice KVM's are but the two $50 ones we bought seem to both start acting up after a few months, enough so that we've stopped using them. VNC is nice, but not really a substitute for direct access.

the ones we've tried, with built in cables are a belikin, and an IOgear. Neither seemed to hold up, though the concept has me sold.

i have a belkin 2 port, but it doesn't won't work with my optical mouse using the ps/2 convertor so I don't use it. i can only assume that it still works :-X

Yeah, my wife had the belkin, with her wireless usb mouse, and it was fine for a couple months, then started freaking out. Mine is the IOgear, and I have a corded optical, using the converter. It was fine for a while, but now will periodically go into 3 second switch mode, were it bounces from one pc to the other every 3 seconds.

anyone have a good one?

my advice is go do a search at www.hardocp.com its a good website for reviews on computer equipment. surely they've done tests on KVM switches
