Installation problem?
 

i want to install visual studio 2010 on my pc, having MS window XP home edition installed on it. Is there any way to install on it. i try it but the setup got closed again and again. so can somebody know about this???????:alert:

Probably upgrade to 7 make sure you computer has the capabilities to be upgraded like ram or hard drive

you will not be able to install VS10 on such an old OS, VS08 has a chance but I doubt it. XP simply can't install the framework required because it came along after XP support was retired.

well since MS says it it must be true, so I suppose my statement is incorrect.Yes, XP with SP3 is supported, but is the video card in your desktop DirectX 9 capable? Also, does it have enough video RAM? I'm guessing if you are using a system that is still running XP, that it is an older machine... which generally means the video is garbage

Dx9 would be the most likely hardware problem with this install, but you would be notified that your system isn't up to the task by the installation wizard...plus it's not likely.

Chances are you have viruses. A lot of viruses will shut down executables to thwart cleaning tools from clearing them out. XP is vulnerable to them because of the lack of User Account Control.

I would do a fresh install of Windows7 or use the Recovery disk that came with your computer. You will want to burn any pictures or files you want to save to a cd before you do this.

It sounds like you're probably not going to have luck cleaning the computer yourself, so this is the most effective fix and I am 100% you will fix it this way.
