Cool PC trick
I run a program on my PC that I paid for called Tweaki.
It's like the Tweak UI that the MS guy's made several years ago, but way better. It has a lot more stuff that lets you create cascading menus off of your Start button. Unfortunately I can't put the program on my son's laptop I'm working on. The software developer has a rotating code to unlock the software. But there is a trick I learned a long time ago you can do to achieve the same effect, and I just did it on my son's laptop. 1. Go to your Explorer (not Internet Explorer) and browse to the Windows folder. 2. Look for the Start menu folder, and click on it. 3. Once inside, right click and create a new folder. 3. Paste this code here exactly for the name of the folder. You don't have to open up the folder and put anything inside, just name the folder with this code: Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} 4. Use the whole line above this one to paste starting with the C and ending with the } bracket. Now go look at your Start menu from your Desktop, and you will see a cascading Control Panel menu. Mucho easier to get to it instead of clicking into the old way. |
Corey, I tried this, but I don't know if it worked. I am not that illiterate, but what does the cascading mean? I am not dumb, please don't laugh, lol, but what does that mean? Thanks! :fireman:

:pat: Stupid Ryan, Stupid Ryan. I just figured out what it is. The control panel is there! LOL...thanks Corey, that is really cool. Thanks. :fireman:

I dunno if X-teq's X-setupi will do that but its a really good program to use as an alternative to TweakUI. Has alot more stuff to customize with it.

Yeah I've also used X-setup and love it way more than TweakUI. I just find that it has lots more features to use, but both are great programs :)

Here's the Tweaki software I mentioned, not to be confused with the free Microsoft Tweak UI.
http://www.jermar.com/ This has way more than the MS one. You can do quite a bit of cool stuff with it, include add addtional IPs to a single NIC card. They have a demo here. http://www.jermar.com/tweaki.htm What I also like is the right clikc the mouse and the send to ops. You can assign new things to appear in the list. I have been using it for a few years now. Corey |
