So i want to know who bought it today. i think i might today if not some other day this week like tomorrow maybe. but i cant play it until i get my new video card. make sure before you buy it you have a video card capable of playing it. i just orderd a GForce 6800. i got the 128 mb one though because of cost. i got to save some money for my rig. i believe you have to have a 5500 or higher as far as nvidia video cards go.

Been playing the demo as seen in a post here with my ATI 9600 Pro at 1024x768 res, and it looks beautiful.

My next card for this rig will be an ATI X800 XL with 256 MB, and still AGP.
Not jumping on the PCI Express bandwagon until I build a new gaming rig a year or so from now.
Gotta have some Boeing bucks before I do that.

The 6800 you bought should do very well.

yeah my brother has the 6800 gt 256MB and it is beautiful. i just didnt want to spend the money and my processor wont even allow it or the video card im getting to their full capability. that is my next upgrade is new motherboard and processor.

still thinking about it. boy it looks good though

My mobo will accept upto a 3.4 or so Prescott CPU.
I may drop a 3.2 in it later, but I have been running my 2.4 OC'd to 3.12 GHz for a good half year or more with no extra heat.

My next PC though will be an AMD FX55.
There is still plenty of good gaming though from my current PC.

Not sure if I will go with NVIDIA the next time around, or stick with ATI.
I have had good luck with both.

One card is faster than two 6800 Ultras running in SLI mode.

Just picked up a new Dell XPS Gen 2 laptop. Should play BF2 decent enough :D

well that will leave room for plenty plenty of gaming. :rockon: i would love to get one but dont have the $$. right now i have an AMD but i am going to upgrade it to an AMD 64 4000 maybe. if not that then i may go with the 3800 because of the price. not sure yet i have time to think about it though. my computer should get me a little while longer in the gaming world.

newegg is a good company that is where i just ordered my new 6800 from today.

my brother just sold my dad a duel xeon. the graphics card isnt to great i think its like a GeForce 4200 or its equivilent to that. but i would love to have the duel xeon.

yeh see im an nvidia guy. that was my first real graphics card. my brother got me hooked on them. he has always delt with nvidia. he just doesnt have any reason to leave and go with ati. i asked him today why he hasnt ever boughten ati and he said he just trust nvidia and has absolutely no reason to switch. nvidia has served him well. ive never had an ati either.

You can use their current X800 or X850 series cards, a mobo that has an ATI chipset, and a CrossFire Edition co-processor board.

I will be happy just to get the X800 XL card later on.

yeah i kind of wish i went with nvidia this time around just because of the price to performance. i am happy with the card that i have and processor. had a 2100+ overclocked to 2.4ghz with this card and upgraded to a fx53 and it was a huge performance just.

alright well my graphics card came super soon and i got it today which is great news. the bad part that kills it all is that i cant get it to work. i trun off my computer unplug the old video card and plug in the new video card. i turn on my computer and this incredible high pitch beep sounds off. i had to check my ears to see if they were bleading. it is just a solid constant beep. so i let it go for a while thinking ok maybe this is just a suffering yo0u have to go through before you get your new cool video card. but it doesnt stop. so i turn off the computer go get some advil for the headache i now have and put the old one back in. it works like a champ. i then try to turn on the computer with no graphics card. and guess what there is no beep. i probly unplugged and plugged the new video card back in 15 times to make sure that it was in all the way. i couldnt get the beeping to stop. all the fans are on (from the processor and video card) but anoying beep still goes on and nothing happening on the screen. has anyone else had this problem or can someone suggest a solution please. i want to play with my new toy.

what are you puter specs are you sure the card is in all the way and are you sure you got a agp card

hey thanx for the reply but i figured it out later last night. i made a "duh" mistake. i forgot to plug the wire in from the power source... "duh" :chair:

its working great now. i love it. mainly because now i can actually play bf2. so im happy. :P

As posted elsewhere on the forum here, member Drew is hosting two servers.
One for Counter Strike Source (soon to have Linux taken off and XP put on, and possibly UT 2004) and the other server for two instances of Battlefield 2.
To access his games, type in flybye in the multiplayer server browser for the game.
Port 67 is the busier game with more folk's in it, and it will have a headphone icon next to it.

Also choose "Play BF2" from your Windows Start menu, as the other shortcut called "Play BF2 online now" is only for EA Games owned servers.
Let us know here how his server is running, as he is still making adjustments to it.

You can double tap the running vid to make it full screen.
This was around 4 GB of AVIs made with Fraps software compressed down to 15 MB with XPs Movie Maker, so some quality does go away ;)
