Small Project: PA system on the truck, any ideas?

hey guys I want to throw a pretty nice PA system on my truck, but I dont know much about them, I mean output wise. The wiring and installation I can do with my eyes closed but what kind of specs to look for on wattage and quality Im clueless. Plus also where to buy?!?

Anybody already done this?

Most C.B. Radios have a P.A. systom built into them. They arent too loud, but if one were to be motivated to hook up an amp an some big-ass weatherproof speakers, one could blast other cars off the road. (ahhh.. THAT would be handy in a traffic jam).
Hate to say it but, check out Radio Shack. As much as it pains me to suggest them, they will probably have just what you are looking for.
Good luck!

www.galls.com will get you awesome stuff, it's expensive though, and if you screw around with it on the streets, you might be serving some jailtime for impersonating a cop

This store here just happens to be down the road from me, near the Worlds Largest Truck Stop. It is a seriously cool store, if you are into radios and the like. They have PA speakers for $12 bucks and up. They also have amplifiers and even gadgits that change the way your voice sounds or echos and other annoying things. It is my opinion that every wheeler should have a CB, and I just picked up a PA speaker two weeks ago. Works well and you can definatly hear whoever is talking loud enough over the engine noise.

http://www.westcoastmall.net/shop/pr...roducts_id=456 thats the one i got.. it was less then 20 bucks shipped and it was at my house the next day. its pretty loud. loud enough to talk/yell at people walking or standing on the corner, or if i am a traffic light, but its not loud enough to hear it in another car at speeds over like 15mph. be careful if you're in CA and check wiht local/state laws. i know here its a fine for execssive noise. how ever the cops i talked to didnt say anything about jailtime. oh and if you have one of these

Then you have to check out American Signal.

There is one I am looking for, and can't seem to find it. It's an orange model, I think the only one.

Just go to Harbor Freight and buy a bullhorn. You can wire it into your truck if you have basic electronics knowledge. Total cost $20.

I went to the local flea market and bought a nice size PA with 150 watt max i have it hooked up to a mids and highs 4 channel amp i have it mounted underneath my toyota and hooked up to a swith so when im at parties i kick on the radio and its screams through my PA and the rest of my high end system but if you get a good one the highs come out crystal clear especially when run through an amp! ill get you a picture later maybe a video. Good luck
