New Components
Yotatech gang,
I plan on getting some new components for my 1997 4Runner. I plan on going with components for the front, but I have very little knowledge about car audio. If I get components, do they need to be amplified or can I just run them off of the deck? Thanks for your help. Anthony |
Sounds like you need a Crutchfield education:
http://www.crutchfield.com/ Lots of good info on that site, they will tell you what fits your truck. |
Thanks calg3. Getting informed right now. I didn't know about that resource for car audio. Thanks Again!

Yes you can run components off your stock deck. More power is always better though...

You should really run components off an amplifier for the best sound. Most HUs don't have enough power to properly run components.
CHeck out http://forum.sounddomain.com/ ... there are a lot of helpful people and info on that site. |
You'll enjoy a set of components a lot more if you run them off an amplifier. I recently bought a set of CDT Audio EF-61i components with the 560 crossover upgrade from djdilliodon on SoundDomain. I can't believe how good they sound with about 125 watts/channel going to them. Makes me want to keep driving around the block when I get somewhere. I don't want to stop listening.
The CDTs are some pretty expensive speakers, but djdilliodon has incredible prices and is really helpful. I paid $190 plus shipping for mine. They retail at around $400. |
Awesome Help Guys! Thanks again for helping out a audio newbie!

djdilliodon is the man on Sounddomain ... he's an authorized CDT dealer, so hit him up if you want some good stuff at a great price.
