Need some help with sub output

Hey guys I just bought the jensen vm9510 7" screen.. Love it. However I'm trying to hook my amp up to it so I can control the power through the HU. Now I see it has front and rear output sets (witch im using now for the rca jacks). But there is also an output for the subwoofer (only has a single bananna plug output). Also there is a single output for a center channel. Now I was under the impression that in order to hook up to an amplifier you need + and - outputs on the headunit. So how do I go about hooking this up so I can use the subwoofer control on this headunit? Do I just use one side of the rca jacks? Thanks in advance

Typically a subwoofer amp has a single mono channel. Those are usually combined in the amp, but in this case it appears as though you will need a Y-Plug to combine them at the amp input. Go to Radio Shack and get a Y-RCA jack that has one female input going out to two male RCA jacks. That should take care of the issue. Run a single RCA from the Sub output on the Jensen into the Y-Plug and then into the amp.

Done. :)

hmm it seems as if your head unit is set up like a home theatre.

interesting...hook up a center channel and pop a movie in and see how it goes

Great. I am very happy to be of some assistance. :)

I ran a car stereo store for 3 years...then got into computer systems and have been there for the last 20 years...but I still love all electronics. Still do car stereo and home theatre on the side for friends. I love the smell of electrically generated ozone in the morning! LOL.
