I think I messed my subs up!?
I don't know what happened. It's probably from me being an idiot, but, I took out my subs and box out of my car to paint the box to fix up some scratches. When I went to put the subs back in. I put back all the wires connecting the subs correctly, as far as I know, and they seemed to be working alright. I went out driving later, and noticed that the subs were not "hitting", Like I couldn't feel the bass at all. I pulled over to see what was going on, and the subs still seemed to be working...
I'm not sure what I did to make this happen. Did I mess up with using normal paint affecting something? Did I somehow maybe wire it wrong? I don't know if it matters flipping the wires, so they face inside or out. All I know, is it's driving me nuts. I want my bass back! |
switching the wires shouldnt make them not play... ive done it before, the bass just sucks... maybe check your fuses?? i dunno though. doesnt sound seem like they would blow or anything but its a possibility.
also, go back and check all your wires. ie my remote wire always gives me trouble... |
It's not the remote wire, the only wire I messed with is the speaker wire going between the amp and the subs. And all fuses are still good. I don't know how they could blow without playing them either...

yeah that is weird... if at all possible, ask a friend to test his subs in your car (hooked to your amp) to see if its the amp or the subs thats messed up.

id you possibly wire one of the subs out of phase , effectively canceling the other sub out?
