Thread content rating system

In response to "b****ing about searching" (https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f5/bitching-about-searching-90620/) and my own experience in trying to find answers from possibly generic keywords, can we devise a system of rating? On a different forum I peruse occasionally, a system of 5 stars is used. If this is started it will take a while to really filter back to the older, good posts, but can easily help distinguish between the millionth question or repost of "what is the ISR mod?" and the original thread or ones deemed important to the idea.

Referenced forum for star idea:

What do you guys (and gals) think???

edit: PS comments greatly appreciated

I believe we used to have one... I don't even remember when it went away.

I think it got scrapped when somebody misused them.

i still think my idea of categorizing threads would work well, but due to the utter lack of interest i think it's safe to predict its demise.

I think that as long as you narrow down the search enough, you should be able to find what you are looking for easily. Leaving the search broad definitely increases the odds of uselessness, but often times I find myself reading a thread on something completely different to the point where I forget what I was searching for origionally. I find that oftentimes searches with a % match or something along those lines does not guarentee the findings you want anyways. Therefore, I'll just stick to looking through useless threads...

There is no technology that will ever replace the need for humanity to put forth the effort to read and search. It is just impossible to please everyone.

I have spent many hours into the wee hours of the morning just reading on places like Pirate in the Toyota FAQ. The information is out there, but just like at the library, you still have to go look for it and narrow down the relevant vs. useless information, and that opinion changes depending on the lookee.
