Tacoma Addticted Offroad Bumper

I met Scott of Addicted Offroad at the CO4RJ this year and spoke with him about building me a bumper. He currently didn't have a production bumper for the Tacoma's so it looks like this will be it... well if not "IT" very close to "IT". Pricing is going to be around $499 with a license plate mount that slides into the hitch...

Main section is 2x3 .188 wall.
Lower tubes are 1.75" .120 wall
Upper tubes are 1.25" .120 wall, however, will likely use 1.75" for the full production model.

Hope to get him to build a production version for the front bumper for the Tacoma as well...

The inch gap is because of my body lift BTW....

What would be the point of putting the license plate over the hitch?
why not put it beside the hitch, so you can use the hitch, either that, or have it over the hitch, then slide to the side so you can use the hitch

The bumper being low profile doesn't allow for a standard plate mount. Therefore, it actually goes in the hitch... Then you can remove it while you are wheeling. I put a d-shackle in it while I am wheeling.

Wheeling....

Not Wheeling

Nice looking Bumper

Depending on the thickness of the pieces of tube on the bottom bar - you might be able to rig up something like i did using mag light mounts to hold on my front license plate to the TJM Bars - it just clips on to the bar.

Yeah I could but it's less likely to get stolen if it's put on the hitch with a locking pin... my truck doesn't sit in the garage at night....

Besides this comes with the plate hitch.

I like that bumper a lot. Low profile, subtle and clean lines. I think I would sink the plate into the tailgate so I could mount a light for it as well. Maybe find a crashed 4runner and cut that section out of the tailgate and graft it in right below the latch.

Hmm - that's a good point - technically I believe a non-illuminated plate is grounds for a ticket - at least in Colorado. I was in a friends truck when he got pulled over for a light bulb out on the license plate.

That is true with all of the bumpers though. A simple license plate light clipped into the running light fixes that.

I will be trying to get a jig built for these soon so I can go full production on them.

Yeah you definitely need a light on the plate. Thats why I suggested maybe cutting out the section from a 4runner gate. Light would be included and you wouldn't have to fab anything, just cut a hole the right size and weld it in.

Link didn't work for me, but I know what you are talking about.

One of my friends just screwed the plate to the tailgate, and put the original LP light right above it. You might not want to mess up your nice truck though.

What kind of issues are you having?
