New Beadlocks

OK, this is something that I have been planning on doing for quite some time, but I really needed to do more research before I finally made my choice to get beadlocks added to my extra set of stock rims. I finally narrowed my choice down to 2 companies.

I chose OMF to do the work, because they are located closest to me and after going by their shop and seeing the qualitY of the work performed. I dropped off my rims wednesday and they were ready friday! I picked them up this morning and do they look sweet! Can we say BLING BLING :bigok:

thats pretty crazy! did they make a true beadlock system or is it just cosmetic?

how did you drop off your rims...? what did you drive your truck with?

glad to see you got your truck workin.. even though you had to replace the motor

(i'm jason from the last hungry valley run, i came with my girlfriend in my 95 red 4x2 4runner)

I think it would look even more awsome-er...er...hehe, it would look sweet if you teflon dk.grey or powedercoated gunmetal the spokes and left the ring as is.

Post some more pics...how they welded them, a pic with out the ring...

And, how wide did they turn out?

BruceTS Feb 21, 2004 10:29 AM

I'll get a few pictures without the ring and a few showing the weld job. They are now 16 x 8+, I haven't done a physical measurement yet, just going by what Bone's said at OMF.

And Yes, they are true beadlocks and not cosmetic.....

I have an extra set of rims that I had done, so I still have my other rims on my ride til i get my new tires.

That's pretty cool Bruce :bigok:

Awesome to see how your "work in progress" is progressing!

Here's another shot, they are also at my photo album, you can access it through my sig.

how hard is it to get to the valve stem when the outer ring is on?

FirstToy Feb 21, 2004 03:41 PM

 Man, this mod is awesome on so many levels. Can't wait to see it on the truck

BruceTS Feb 21, 2004 04:28 PM

There is plenty of room to access the valve stems, at least now when I grind up against the rocks, the only damage will be to the rings :D

I need to do my tax return, so I can get my new MT/R's :D

man, that's awesome. looks like machine tig welded...those aren't going anywhere!

44Runner Feb 21, 2004 07:03 PM

What weld?!?! All I see is a stack of dimes! :eek2: Wow............

Birdman Feb 21, 2004 11:17 PM

SHAWEET!!! Nice weld job.

tenfourtyeight Feb 21, 2004 11:25 PM

Damn, did a human weld that rim? That is sooo clean.

BruceTS Feb 22, 2004 06:08 AM

Actually it was hand welded and not done by a machine, that was one of the things that impressed me when I first went there to check out the operation.

With all the fake beadlocks that are out on the market now, most police won't even know these are real one's. They'll think it's just another "bling bling" thing. In about a week or so, I should have my tires, unless this weather pattern continues. Dang rain, we need it, but I make no $ when it's raining :(

kyle_22r Feb 22, 2004 07:23 AM

jeeeez...they must have at least used some kind of rotating fixture, and had unhumanly steady hands :o

BruceTS Feb 22, 2004 07:34 AM

I uploaded a photo of the area where they do the welding, you can see the rotating table that they use.

Vato Loco Feb 22, 2004 07:36 AM

Wow that looks great! When do you plan on putting it on the truck?

BruceTS Feb 22, 2004 07:41 AM

I have to fabricate my rear bumper first, so I can have the clearance, then I'll install them. If the weather is nice to me, it should take a few weeks to month to get all this done.
