I can e-mail you some of mine but don't know how to post here and don't know how to resize them. Mines on a 85 Runner with a swing out tire carrier. PM me your e-mail address if you want pics.

Heres a pic of the one I built:

It used to be flush with the body but some dumb girl on a cell phone in an Exploder rear ended me Thats all the damage I took, but the front end of the explorer was totally fubar'd. Guess that means its strong enough!

here are a few of mine. I still need to make supports out to the side wings and add D-ring shackles.

It's based on a Marlin Crawler rear bumper. Very nice work; high quality.

Thanks guys, I've been wanting to see some pics myself! Even though I have a 2nd gen. ~ custom is custom ~ right? BTW I'm not gonna bother starting another thread, but if anybody has pics of 2nd gen bumpers, post 'em up as well- they're close enough to look roughly the same....that is- unless you consider this thread hijacking- then I digress.

Could you guys include the stock you built them with? I am on the fence on building my own bumpers.

Details on the web page, but the main bumper is 2-1/2" square tubing, I used 1/4" wall, but thinner works as well. I like the 2-1/2" tube as it is the same size as a 2" hitch receiver, so makes a nice clean setup for adding receivers to the bumper.

RustBucket i really lie how your bumper turned out and that is just about what i was thinking about fabbing up. What is "The Mobile Welder"? All these pics are great keep them coming. Also if people want to post up 2nd gen pics that is cool too.

I'm at work right now, will get you something later tonight. I used to have the drawing for it. Not sure if I still do or not.

Here is the link to the build. We made a couple of bumpers that week; starting off with one for a 2nd gen Toy. then mine, it was the prototype for the rest to be made.

Here's a picture of my rear bumper. I made it out of 2x4x0.120 mild steel.

seaflea, mike did a hell of a job on those bumpers, they look really good as well. I also like the mounts on them so it tucks up into the body nicely.
