home made welder site????
i seen the site once and now i can't find it. it has a write up on how to make an on board welder with an xtra alternator. anyone know where the site is?thanks for any help

I know Macgyver did it once with a generator (or car battery?) and a nickel... ;)

that doesnt sound safe... you migth want to look towards procuts like mobiarc or premier power welders.....

you can get portable mig welder that hooks to your battery, look on ebay

Just saturday I fixed my draglink on the trail using the old battery welding method. I carry a box of 6011 in my toolbox and two sets of jumper cables. You can see the results on wattora.com there is a video there.

yes i know but what size 1/8", 3/32's? (i shoulda clarified that)

You can weld with two batteries wired in series using jumper cables in a pinch also. Just FYI. Seen it done and it works well.
