Very nice Gibby!

This kind of swaps in Spain would be impossible to legalize...

They're not so easy to legalize here either. Emmission requirements make them tough. I'm hoping I pass emmissions or I'll have to move to someplace where emmission testing is not required.

what ever happened to Gibby anyways....

WATRD Apr 16, 2007 08:43 PM

The Rapture happened...

;) hahahhah

He's still around, I see him pop up from time to time on various forums, although he's not as active on any of them as he used to be. He had some serious work done on his rig and the last I heard he was wheeling the hell... er, heck out of it. (sorry Gibby!) hahahahhahahah

Oh he's still around:grouphug:

I've gotten a little more politically involved. I am the current PNW4WDA Land Chairman for Elbe Hills ORV park.

I haven't got pics up yet, but I just made the 4Runner into a convertible so to speak. I cut off the top right behind the rear seat.

It looks awesome but now I have to tie it all to together and tube the back half before I get out wheelin' again.

I'm a little less active all over the forums as work's got me tied down pretty good.

BTW, there's a work party at Elbe Hills on the 28th and 29th of April and we can use all the help we can get. The majority of the work is winter storm clean up but we're also erecting some signs, marking some trails and doing some work on some of the worst of the mudholes.

Anyone able to make it? Remember, don't complain about trail closures and such if you're not willing to get out and take some action. So who's going to be there?

Yikes! Speak of the dev... uh, Gibby! ;)

I've been working it pretty hard. Got a couple of pics in CRAWL. Been laid up most of the winter. Ripped a caliper off the right rear and had a heck of a time getting parts. Any idea how hard it is to find brake parts when they ask you for the year, make and model...
hmmm let's see, 1994 Toyota 4Runner with a Chevy Dana 61 rear axle, full floater with custom disc brake conversion... and what I need are rotors, which are off the FRONT of a Chevy 3/4 ton of some sorts... I spend time just opening box after box trying to find the right one. Took me 3 months to finally give up, but one that's close and then take it to a buddy with a machine shop to make it fit.

Then the gas tank's got a good size hole in it from a broken U-joint which allowed the rear driveline to fly into the side of the tank... My transmission is leaking like a sieve and I'm NOT looking forward to pulling it out with the 203-205 doubled t-cases... Then the rats got into my wiring for the second rear in a row so I have to pull apart the dash and repair the wires they chewed up THIS time.

So with all that work todo, I decided to cut off the back.... STUUUPID, STEWPID, STOOPID! :drink:

hehe... sounds like you having fun Dale :D

DeathCougar Apr 17, 2007 06:33 AM

now THAT is a long-overdo update!! lol. Good to hear from you Gibby!

smashmetal Apr 18, 2007 10:49 AM

Very nice, lots of time involved into that rig!

What kind of info can you pass on about the braking system? I just got my 1 tons under my 93 and have been reading about people having problems running the stock yota brake booster and master cylinder.

bruzer1123 Apr 23, 2007 09:34 AM

Don't some people use a FJ-80 Master cyclinder? I am pretty sure that is what is commonely used when swapping from drums to discs in the rear. But seeing as how I neither have one tons or rear discs....I will go back to lurking.
