Custom Gas tank help...
So, Im putting a 85 4runner on a 84longbed truck frame.... (some fab required)
Currently its carb with a inline electric pump, when my motor gets done I have a 255 walbro to drop into an efi tank
the efi 4runner tank doesnt fit at all, its highest point, (fuel pump) lands right on the lowest point of the bed.
the carb tank fits better if I knotched out the front and managed to put the fuel pump onto it
So the input hose on the carb tank is gonna be pretty far off.
So questions,
If i have a long curved hose to fill and vent the tank will that effect anything? (should I cut those and move them forward?)
If I cut and fab the carb tank, do I just use some of that gas tank sealer on the inside?
Can I put the fuel pump where the carb currently pulls from the tank? (since its lower)
Do I need the charcoal canister (emissions junk) gas line?
Is there anything else I need to know about this?

Your fuel demands are so high that the manual pump will not meet your needs??
Are you going to a EFI engine from your now Carb engine ??
It is one thing if you need the fuel flow or if you feel all the fabrication work your doing is just for fun.
What you end up doing make sure the access to the fuel pump is easy
Do you need to meet emissions or is this a off road only vehicle??
A vent in the gas tank is good unless you find a vented cap
A custom fuel cell to meet your size requirements .
Just what is the end game here ??

Let's call it off road only... it's Missouri, no one cares... so don't need to pass any emissions
i knotched out the bottom of the seat bucket and redoing that... just got to get a fill hose long enough to reach my tank now... vent cap is a really good idea since I don't have any charcoal canisters anymore
