converting manual pump hydraulic ram to air operated?

I have an air-hydraulic pump from a bender and a ram that looks to be about the size needed on my engine hoist to put together to adapt for my other bender(JD2 model 3) I think it should be possible to adapt the manual pumping cylinder to work with the air-hydraulic pump and then I can use the cylinder for both the hist and the JD2 model 3.

I figure just remove the pump handle, and fitting and put a qui9ck connect hydraulic fitting there and it should work. the oil reservoir for the manual cylinder is inside of it so I am wondering how that comes into play.

Anyone have experience?

definitely seems possible. by removing the piston and replacing with quick connect as I thought. Ill give it a try. Ill even make up a line that attaches back to the original piston and re-mount it somewhere in case I want to use it manually again.

Did you get it to work???

Seems to me air would get trapped in the resevor. And when the piston is lowered hydraulic would be displaced insted of air.
Hense the term "AIR OVER".
