Basic rear bumper for 86 4runner
Wanting to get this thing on the road asap, built a quick and simple rear bumper. Used the stock mount and then added on to make it work for some light towing/recovery.

Yanked that crap off the rear crossmember and made up a plate with two pieces of 2"square, 1/2" weld nuts on the inside. http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/e...r/Img_1384.jpg Made the supports bolt on because of taking the bumper off required tipping it down. Worked out well for now. http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/e...r/Img_1388.jpg http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/e...r/Img_1391.jpg |
Dude! im so jealous! that thing is sick, nice job.
really jealous cause i dont even have a rear bumper on my 87 runner, i have a hitch as my rear bumper. |
That bumper does look good man.
Quick question: Did you put on bedliner on the sides or get it done somewhere? |
Thanks, appreciate it. I did the bedliner on the lowers and the entire interior. Was a kit off of ebay called Xtreme liner. Really liked the kit, two parts plus the granules were separate so you could add as much or as little as you wanted. Came with an undercoat gun to shoot so once you had all the prep done, went on quick and easy.
