Well, unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate this past weekend. It was damp and rainy all weekend, so I could not paint the bumper as I had planned. The POR-15 paint is too expensive to use in non-ideal weather conditions, and have it not turn out right. Then I'd have to buy more and start all over again. No way!

It was very frustrating, because I was really hoping to get it painted, and then do final assembly on Memorial Day weekend. Looks like I'll be a few weeks late on my end date goal.

Small update: I got 2 coats of POR-15 on the bumper this weekend. I still need to topcoat it. I'll try to get a few pics up soon.

A couple of quick pics:

Like I said, it still needs a topcoat.

Finally got all my painting done. I put several light coats of POR-15 TopCoat on the outside of the bumper.

While the topcoats were drying, I also started another project that I've been wanting to do for a while. My undercarriage was getting very ugly with all the rust. So I put 2 coats of POR-15 on the rear frame, cross member, axle, link mounts, panhard bar, etc. Very messy job, but it looks MUCH better, and will hopefully slow down the rust. I still need to do the front half of the truck, but I ran out of paint.

Haha it was worth a shot right?

But in all seriousness, that bumper looks amazing! Your fab skill and attention to detail never cease to amaze me.

I also noticed that you have a rear cargo storage drawer system. Do you have a build thread for that or do you care to share any details about how you did it by any chance? I have been wanting to make one for a while but I just don't know where to start...

Thanks guys. Here is the thread to the cargo box: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/b...go-box-183022/

Its not so much a "build" thread though, more like a "Its done, Here it is" thread. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

it really is great. the only thing i would have done differently is a swing out tire carrier. it's got a professional look to it bandit. hands down one of the best bumpers i've ever seen
