2nd gen 4runner to 4 door flatbed pickup
I'm new to this forum although I have been lurking around for a few years looking at it. I did this project last spring and I'm currently in the middle of a 3.4 swap in it now. This is my 2nd attempt at posting the first one failed.

Very clean! Nice job man. I have thought about doing this myself. What cab did you use to mate to the back?
|
I used the rear of a second gen regular cab pickup. That way I had the seat belt posts to work with. Sold the tailgate off the 4runner for $100 bucks on craigslist and bought the cab from local salvage yard for $100. I doesn't match perfect but with some trimming and patching it works out good. If you decide to do this let me know and I can give you some advice on cutting the fender wells of 4 runner and the fuel door.

Man, that looks great. Can't believe how clean it came out. Nicely done!

Thanks!!The inside came out really nice as well. When I get finished with my 3.4 swap and get it out back together Ill try to remember to post some pictures of the inside.

would it work if the bed was longer? ive thought of this but honestly its just a small flatbed

I can only guess this was one of those I wonder if I could do this.
One of those projects unless it was built for a special purpose . Put a job box on the back haul 4 people to job site rather than be crushed in a regular pick up. |
