I'm workin' dang it. Kinda thought I was going to be there this whole time.

AZ4ME 08-07-2008 03:52 PM

I'll have an open seat, but you'd have to judge if you want to ride with me or not. No A/C and the last time I was on a trail, we went for quite the ride. :con:

Cool. Again, I may get an overtime day, which I can't turn down, I'll know early next week.

I saw pics of the flop. sveeeeeet. Should I bring my helmet?

No A/C is no big deal.

Red Rover 08-08-2008 05:08 PM

Oh whatever... you'll survive with no A/C Drunk. If it gets too hot you can just hop over in the plush mobile. :great:

Shouldn't matter to you. You're up at like 5am anyway. Plus I have the longest drive (unless T comes) to get to the gas station (West Siiiiiiiiiiiiiide). :banger:

Thinking on it but i need gas $$ for Colorado.

**edit**
Won't be making this one, since I've been in Phoenix the past two weekends and I have things to take care of here. I'll keep an eye out for the next run.

Grady you're definitely in? (we met at box canyon last month)

We might have an old Willys with us too. My buddy at work has a 46(?) that is double locked on 33's. (yes I cleared with Westy). And I think my neighbor/business partner might ride along with me for his first FJ trail experience.

I am really going to try to make it but I will not get back into town until early Saturday morning after being up all night. So I am going to be really tired. I will try to make it though. I started a 4wheeling thread on the Arizona Honda site I am always on here and have received a pretty good response. I have already gone wheeling with 4-5 people from the site so we will see what happens. Check out this link, there are several pics on other pages too:

Just to clarify, what's the deal with lunch? Are we still doing the BBQ thing at the cabin's? If so, what needs to be brought?

I thought about doing a BBQ, etc...but it might be too much work and alittle hot yet so I plan to keep it simple:

I will probably put together some chicken fajita burritos and pre-make them so all we have to do is warm the food. I will bring enough for 16 people :bigok: That should be enough based on our usual crew + a few extras...speak up if you guys in the 4 door station wagons have 4 passengers!

Kent said he will bring chips/salsa and Jon was on beverage duty (for lunch).

Brian if you want to bring some napkins/plates we should be covered.

If anyone else wants to bring something thats cool...but not necessary.

However, I'd recommend everyone have plenty of their own cold drinks/water its going to be hot

I will have a dual burner stove to fire up the food.

If that sounds good to everyone then I will go with it!

Well the new windshield is a no go. The glass man put a new windshield in the frame and the cab is pushed over an inch or two at the top. It fits pretty good at the bottom but not at the top. So, I may still make it this weekend. May just drive without a windshield and use some goggles, aka "Schaefer Style".

Anyone recommend a shop that can pull the top of the cab back over? Not looking to pay a bunch, just need to get it straight enough.

westy44runner 08-13-2008 01:17 PM

Yeah just throw on some goggles...the highway should be easy going anyway that early on a Saturday.

The only body shop I have used is Kustom Koachworks.

http://www.kustomkoachworks.com/

Erik, the owner is a family friend/old neighbor. They do great work...I know that, I just have no idea what it would cost to get that fixed. He used to be into 4wheeling, etc. It wouldnt hurt to call or stop in and see what they say.

You might also want to try one of those body shops on the southwest end of PHX if the others are $$$?? For what you need done I'm sure they could fix you up reasonably.

Didn't you roll it to the right in Moab? We just need to find something that will roll you to the left on Martinez. :hillbill:

Looks like Micki and I will be going on this one by the way. See you guys at 7:00. :great:

toy_tek 08-13-2008 02:58 PM

Hey if its rolled to the right at least Elvis's "squeeze" will be a breeze! :hillbill:

dlbrunner 08-14-2008 08:06 AM

I cleared my schedule Brian. Im in. I have some safety glasses!

or Zip ties and a sheet of plexiglass :hillbill:

sschaefer3 08-14-2008 08:34 AM

That is a good idea. Plexiglass from Home Dept and zip ties.

:guitar:

Hell, you could even cut the sheet metal away and put a windshield on the front of that roll cage. Ghetto, but functional.

AZ4ME 08-14-2008 08:58 AM

I was mulling over the plexiglass last night and I'm going to see if I can get something to work temporarily tomorrow. Plexiglass/Lexan or the such isn't legal for a windshield, so it can't look to ghetto. Not sure if the cops would care or not.

Duncan - better bring some goggles just incase. :hillbill:

dlbrunner 08-14-2008 12:00 PM

cut extra holes in the plexi for A/C!

westy44runner 08-14-2008 01:02 PM

Plexi glass will shatter and could be a real safety hazard...Lexan, Glass, etc doesnt shatter, but good Lexan isnt cheap either.

Red Rover 08-14-2008 03:11 PM

Sweet! Me and the lady friend will be there. Whether we're on time or not will be determined on whether Duncan gets moving on time or not!:D

Bighead 08-15-2008 05:33 AM

Enjoy yourselves and post up some pics. I'll be thinking of you guys while I am dealing with these 60 degree high temps in Anchorage, AK.

I need to head down there soon and have Steve do some welding for me.
