Jaxnoob checking in. I have an '88 4runner that I'm conflicted on whether it is worth investing in or just keeping as a daily driver.

Pros:
Engine seems to run great

Cons:
Rust: Rust hole in floorboard that I riveted a piece of steel over, rusted seat bracket means I only have two bolts holding me in, rust holes on cab, etc etc.
Leaking transfer case
Sloppy steering (needs new tie rods and idler arm)

I need to replace the windshield but I'm afraid of what I'll find once it comes out. I.e., I'm worried I'll discover a rust problem that will prevent me from reinstalling a new one. LOL.

Its better to find out now and repair. just my 2cents.

Serious bump here. Anyone have a good mechanic that you trust? My 2001 is needing some care that I think is above my skill set.
